  • it is a small tree or shrub with a crocked trunk ,typically 20-25 feets in height.its bark is scabrous and cracked,whitish and pendulous extremities.the root bark of tree is similar in colour to sand.it has a pleasant fragrance of mustard or cress as well as a warm and pungent taste.the leaves break with a fine crisp crackle when trodden on.the tree produces small red berrie edible fruits ,juicy but pungent present in clusters.
    it has high tolerance for salty soils and can tolerate as little as 10 inches or less of mean annual rainfall.
