Habitat: Commonly found in rocky habitat & grasslands.
Description: Tufted, ascending perennials, 20-80 cm high, with hairy basal sheath.
Leaveslinear, flat or rolled ligule truncate, ciliate. Racemes upto 4 cm long. Sessile spikelets
c. 3.5 mm. long, narrowly elliptic. Lower glume glabrous, with a pit in the upper half. Upper
lemma acute or bidentate, awned. Pedicellate spikelets with a pit.
