  • It is a Native, Perennial grass, native to temperate and tropical Asia and Africa.
    Distinguishing feature is that ligule is a membrane about 1 mm high.
    Leaf blades are 3-30 cm long, 2-7 mm wide and linear, leaf margins slightly thickened.
    Commonly used as a forage for livestock.
