A large deciduous climber. Stem is woody, cylindrical and young shoots hairy. Leaves are simple, opposite, 6-9 cm, oblong to heart-shaped with tapering pointed apex. Flowers are attractive, crimson when young, rose-colored when old; tubular in graceful pendulous bunches.
A naturalized ornamental plant often cultivated for its beautiful blooms.
