An undershrub. Leaves up to 20 x 7.5 cm. lanceolate or oblong-lanceolate. acuminate at apex, long tapering and decurrent at base. Spikes up to 15 cm long, often solitary, sometimes in panicles; bracts obovate, obtuse, mucronate or apiculate, white with green nerves, glandular strigose, Corolla 2.5-3.5 cm long, rose-coloured or blue.Frequent in forests as an undergrowth. Fl.&Fr.: Dec.- April
